Printout to map, in one tap

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 20 September 2026  ·  interactivewebs.com Pty Ltd

F+R NSW collects no personal information. The app has no server of its own, no account and no sign-in, contains no analytics, and makes no network requests. Nothing it reads leaves your phone unless you tap a navigate button, which hands the destination to the maps app you chose (see When you open directions below). This policy is short because there is very little to describe — but it describes all of it, including the one place on this website where you can choose to send us something.

What the app does

F+R NSW uses the camera to recognise text on a station printout or an in-truck screen you point it at, and extracts the job's address, its map reference coordinates and its incident number from what it reads. It then offers to open driving directions. It also contains a radio communications quick reference, which is a fixed page inside the app.

Where that happens

What is stored on your device

The most recent job — the address, the coordinates and the incident number as read, or as you typed or corrected them — is kept on your device for up to 12 hours, so that after navigating you can return to it as it was read. It is stored in the app's own private container, protected by the device's file encryption, excluded from iCloud and device backups, and kept for at most 12 hours from when it was first read: after that the app will not show it again, and erases it the next time it is opened. Accepting another job replaces it, and Forget this job erases it at once. Nothing older than that one job is kept: there is no history.

Beyond that, the only values saved on the device are your two settings — which maps app directions open in, and whether you have chosen light, dark, or the phone's own appearance. Neither is personal information and neither leaves the device.

Camera

Camera access is used solely for live text recognition while the scanner is on screen. No photo or video is recorded, saved to your photo library, or transmitted. The camera is not used at any other time, and the app works without it: every detail can be typed in instead.

When you open directions

When you tap a navigate button, the app hands the destination — the address, or the coordinates — to the maps app you chose, Google Maps or Apple Maps, in the same way as tapping an address in any other app. If Google Maps is chosen but not installed, the destination opens in Google Maps in your browser instead. Likewise, if Apple Maps has been removed from the phone, the destination opens on Apple's maps website in your browser. What those services do with it is governed by their own privacy policies — Google's for Google Maps, Apple's for Apple Maps — not by this one. Nothing is handed over until you tap.

This website's support form

The support form on this site is the only place we can receive anything from you, and only if you choose to use it. What you type into it — your message, and the name and email address you optionally supply — is sent to our app support team by email and used only to answer you. It is not added to a mailing list, not used for marketing, and not passed to anyone else. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, request time, user agent) for security and operations; these are rotated and deleted routinely. To limit abuse, the form also keeps a count of recent submissions per connection: the times of submissions, filed under a scrambled form of the sending IP address, of which only the last hour is counted. It holds nothing you typed.

Data retention and deletion

The app sends nothing to us, so we hold no data from it: what it reads is held only on your own device, and the destination goes to your maps app only when you tap a navigate button. The one job it keeps is never shown after 12 hours and is erased the next time the app is opened, or at once when you tap Forget this job; uninstalling the app removes it and the two settings immediately. If you have written to us through the support form and want that correspondence deleted, ask through the same form and we will remove it within 30 days.

Children

F+R NSW is a work tool and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date. In particular, if a later version of the app gains a sign-in or a connection to a server, this policy will say so before that version is released.
